The Readiness curriculum

Four weeks of guided work on your own business idea

Each concept leads to a decision, conversation, calculation, test or participant output. Work can be saved and resumed between sittings.

16active hours
Week 1

Idea, motivation and mindset

Clarify the idea and why it matters. Exchange feedback, examine the environment and choose a practical first action.

Week 2

Offer, audience and value

Define the product or service, the need it meets, the people it may serve and the value it can offer.

Week 3

Industry and validation

Plan and carry out primary research, use credible secondary sources and decide what the evidence is telling you.

Week 4

Money, responsibilities and the sale

Work through cash flow, pricing, costs and break-even, identify business responsibilities and practise asking for a sale.

The work you will take forward

Each week contributes to a growing record of your thinking, research and next actions.

Idea and motivation

A clearer description of your idea, why it matters to you and what growth could require.

Offer and audience

A focused product or service description, customer profile and value proposition.

Validation evidence

A plan and record of real-world conversations and credible secondary research.

Financial foundations

Working assumptions for price, costs, cash flow, break-even and profit.

Business responsibilities

Questions and next steps relating to structure, registration, banking, tax, licensing and regulation.

Readiness and action plan

A concise statement of what is ready, what still needs work and what you will do next.

What the learning experience feels like

The course is active rather than lecture-heavy. You can pause between sittings, return to saved work and see what needs attention before submission.

Learn

Use concise explanations, examples and guided prompts to understand the task.

Apply

Use your own idea rather than a generic case study whenever possible.

Exchange

Give and receive structured peer feedback where the activity calls for it.

Improve

Respond to facilitator feedback and revise specific evidence when needed.

How completion works

Your facilitator reviews the required activities, practical outputs and reflections. If something needs more work, you will be shown what to revisit and can submit a revision. Completion is confirmed through human review—not an automatic score alone.
